Native Brotherhood, Naselle Youth Camp

On friday I had the opportunity to spend a little time with the Native Brotherhood at Naselle Youth Camp, a program that seeks to educate incarcerated residents of NYC to Native culture and heritage. You don't have to be of Native descent to join, only have an interest and respect for Native ways.

This particular day the boys were making ceramic dishes to be sold at the Empty Bowls fundraiser coming up in March.

I never seem to get to spend that much time at NYC, but when I do I try to make the most of it, as it is a very interesting place with endless interesting stories to be told. They just need someone who wants to tell them.
